October is Cyber Security Awareness Month

October is Cyber Security Awareness Month, or in other words, the month of awareness about information security. Over the past 2 years, SANS Internet Storm Center (ISC) has covered different topics related to this month. This year, 31 different ports/services/protocols/applications will be examined and some of the topics of greatest concern regarding information security will be discussed.

Some topics on the list are:

• telnet (port 23)
• SMB over tcp (port 445)
• ssh (port 22)
• Microsoft Terminal Services (port 3389)
• dns (port 53)
